About the Property
Birch Cove Cottage and Cabins are located in the most Northern part of New Brunswick. You will enjoy a completely unobstructed view of one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The Bay of Chaleur and the Appalachian mountains create the backdrop for your picture-perfect vacation. The entrance is with a long driveway that is lined with mature birch trees. The property is on a very private 1.5 acre lot beautifully landscaped with flower beds and many trees with bird houses. The area is perfect for bird watching with over 30 species a day flying through. There is over a thousand feet of private shoreline in a shallow cove, a great place to go swimming, kayaking, fishing, or beachcombing (good chance you will find some sea glass or fossils). There are lots of things to do on the property, there is a swing, horseshoe pits, fire pit, kayaks, and fishing gear. The surround area provides many opportunities for fun and adventure. The Restigouche Golf Club, an 18 hole course is a 5 minute drive. 10 minutes to the East is the town of Dalhousie where you can go sightseeing, shopping, and swimming at the indoor pool. 10 Minutes to the west is the city of Campbellton where you can enjoy Sugarloaf Park with BMX trails, duck ponds and an extinct volcano you can climb (Sugarloaf Mountain). There are two shopping malls and many boutiques and restaurants located in the area as well.
The Cottage
Built in 1917, the 4 bedroom main cottage is over 100 old. It was built with Douglas Fir imported from British Columbia, all of the interior wood is original, you can still see some of the shipping stamps on the ceiling boards. It is a unique structure in Northern New Brunswick and features a "Spanish Villa" Design with a 360 degree wraparound veranda. There are lots of things to do on the property, there is a swing, horseshoe pits, fire pit, kayaks, and fishing gear.
